The minerals listed here are going to be top specimens for the mineral collecting enthusiasts. We have our healing world and we have our rock hound world. These pieces I wanted to center around mineral collectors. The minerals that make this list will do so because of characteristics such as color, shape, size, oddities, rarity and many other unique characteristics.
*Crave Rating: - This will be a rating based on the following 6 characteristics that I have given and rated each of the mineral specimens in this collection. These ratings are based solely on my own opinion and I have not included any references or resources to these ratings. They will be scored by the following characteristics on a scale from 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest)....
Color:The quality and uniqueness of the color of the minerals. Shade, richness and tone. For example: A mineral that has colors not common to it will get a higher score.
Quality:Limited damage and overall appearance will be top factors of giving this score.
Size:The accessibility and convenience along with unusual size will be factors of this score. For example: A specimen that is commonly a large mineral will get a high score if the piece is much smaller than usual, and vice versa.
Collectability:A high score in this category will come when I feel a mineral is really fun to collect and you just do not want to put the piece down. If I feel the mineral is a must have this score will be toward the high end.
Availability:I did a reverse scoring system for this category meaning if a mineral is readily available to me it will get a lower score and if a mineral has limited availability to me than this score will be higher.
Uses:A high score in this category will be based on the amount of different ways this mineral can be used such as displaying, showing off and simply how happy it can make you just looking at it.
Overall:This will be the overall average of the 6 categories plus and bonus points I feel the mineral should get.
